Chicago is full of so much musical talent! What's even cooler is that some of these musicians are just getting started. A prime example of this is DVO! This Chicago artist has a very bright future ahead! This man has so much potential not only because of his persistent determination but also because of his impressive skills. This is noticed via his vocal delivery, flow, lyrics, and beat selection. His songs sound like radio hits! He puts up numbers too! It all started in 2020 when he released a hand full of songs that are all fun to listen to. Whether you want to listen to happy songs or turn up songs or menacing songs or sentimental songs, DVO does it all! Here are some examples: "Rightfully Wrong" (over 2,000 plays on SoundCloud), "Sauce" (over 23,000 plays on SoundCloud), "DVO Bibby" (over 63,000 plays on SoundCloud), "Ariana" (159,000 plays on SoundCloud), "OnlyFans" (over 76,000 plays), and more! This year, 2021, DVO released his debut project, "Original Villain". It's a great sounding catalog that illustrates the essence of coming from Chicago! It's got hard rap, melodic rap, and great beats. This is audible via its songs like "Waves", "Lombardi Sh*t", "Yours Truley", and more! We actually had the chance to interview DVO. Check it out here!
ACE: For those who don't know, where are you form?
DVO: My family is from the West Side of Chicago. At the age of 4 I started bouncin' around and landed in Glen Ellyn where I finished my last 2 years of high school and graduated.
ACE: If you could only show a stranger one of your songs, which would it be?
DVO: I would have to go with "Bibby" ... just because most people tell me they like the way that song makes them feel.
ACE: Who and or what inspired you to get into music?
DVO: My Dad and one of my close friends, Ryan Thomas.
ACE: How did you get that Spenzo feature?
DVO: Another close friend, Danny Walker, was able to connect us with one of his mutual frat brothers. I'm glad he did it; Spenzo is a great dude.
ACE: What are your future goals?
DVO: To become financially stable without forgetting who I am, and also to keep putting out good content and hopefully one day I get to work with a few of my idols.
ACE: How did you make your project "Original Villain"? What's your process?
DVO: I got 2 processes. When I first started, I used to write everything down, but now I'm starting to punch in. I used both of those for that project while also gathering features from the dopest artists I know personally.
ACE: Have you performed shows? If so, how are they for you?
DVO: Yes, I have had the privilege to open up for Moneybagg Yo, Toosie, Asian Doll, ClubGodzilla, and along with those ... we've been able to travel to Dallas for a few festivals including Wet2. Doing shows is the most fun part for me. I love seeing the reaction on the audience's faces
ACE: You have many music videos. What's your personal process when making a video for a song of yours?
DVO: Honestly, I make my videos on how the song makes me feel. I have a great videographer, Roxx, who has been more than helpful bringing my crazy ideas to life. So I wouldn't say I have much of process ... more of a creative freedom.
ACE: What's something you want your fans and future fans to know about yourself?
DVO: First and foremost, I'd like everyone to know I will be dropping a new single called "ABC ft. Bang Gang Bino" sometime in December, but other than that, we got a few videos that we are just waiting to drop, and lastly, I've kept the biggest secrets off social medias. So, I have a few surprises for my fans.
