Awsean

We love to see women in the rap scene! From melodizing, harmonizing, singing, and more, Awsean is a great example of melodic rap. She recently began her career and we are lucky enough to find her in such an early stage. We actually had the chance to interview her too! Here's how it went:

ACE: When did you start making music?

Awsean: “I started making music when I was younger, like around 10 years old. I remember specifically when I had a lil talent show for school, and I seen this girl going over her music and I thought it was trash, and I felt like I could make a better song than her so I came up with lyrics and performed it at the talent show and won 2nd place, and ever since that I just kept going from there.”

ACE: Who are your influences?

Awsean: “Juice Wrld most definitely! I feel like he created a big impact on everybody with his music and he impacted a lot of people without them having to know him personally, and he did that through his songs. He made people relate to him; he made people understand and relate to the type of shit he went through, and that’s the type of impact I want on my fans.”

ACE: What's the story behind your song "Alone"?

Awsean: “Alone was the first song I officially created in this like “emo rap” genre; I feel like that song specifically helped me find myself in music. I was just scrolling through beats like I usually do and I found this beat produced by SOGIMURA and I just thought it was beautiful, and I felt like it was made for me and for some reason I instantly got in tune with my feelings and after that, ‘Alone’ was born.”

ACE: What's your favorite song of yours and why?

Awsean: “It’s actually a unreleased song but it’s called ‘Mentally Ill’. I think you could honestly feel everything I’m saying not only through the lyrics but the beat as well. It’s a song I feel like people would keep on repeat.”

ACE: Is there anyone specific you want to collaborate with?

Awsean: “Polo G or Trippe Redd! I’m very heavy on these two people right now because I have an open verse for both of them and I’ve been dm-ing them like crazy.”

ACE: Do you have a music team or are you solo?

Awsean: “I’m solo; I don’t think I plan to merge with anyone at this time.”

ACE: What are your plans for 2022?

Awsean: “To make a ton of music and release a lot of visuals. I feel like 2021, I was held up a lot, and I didn’t have much time to release a lot of music but this year I’m not stopping; I’m on demon time now.”

ACE: What's something you want your fans and future fans to know?

Awsean: “I appreciate every single person that’s been supportive, and supporting me and my music. I promise to keep on blessing you guys with my music.”

Her music is available on all streaming platforms! We hope to see a debut project and or music video this year too!
