We love it when artists find their groove. This man right here certainly found his. He's in his bag - a duffle bag to be exact. Meet Duffle Bag Buru! This Chicago artist has been putting out music for some time now and none of it is disappointing. It all start back in 2016 when he released his first song on SoundCloud called "WITTAGANG" which is produced by Chicago's BRENTRAMBO. It gained 19,000 plays and earned a Lyrical Lemonade music video. We believe Buru is very close to the Lyrical Lemonade crew. This song is the foundation of his career. Buru has a unique voice and delivery and usually raps on soothing beats, slow trap beats, and or abstract spacey-lofi sounding beats. However, he is constantly evolving. In 2017, he released his debut project "Whole Bag". This tape showcases Buru's musical ability and allows him to introduce himself to his listeners. He raps about his lifestyle in Chicago and the fun, sadness, and accomplishments it contains. This is heard on songs like "Spread (ft. IsaiahG)" - which gained over 57,000 plays on SoundCloud and earned another Lyrical Lemonade music video, "New Bag (ft. Pollari)" - which gained over 50,000 streams on Spotify, "No Limit (prod. Luke Almighty)" - which gained 138,000 plays on SoundCloud, "Bust Back (prod. Mulatto)" - which gained over 1.7 million streams on Spotify - his biggest song yet which also earned another Lyrical Lemonade music video, and more! Buru ended 2017 with a collaboration with Yung Bans on a song called "FEEL THAT". The song has a slow trap vibe with a mesmerizing melody complimented nicely with Buru's and Ban's unique styles and flows. The following year, 2018, Duffle Bag Buru released his sophomore project "BACK HOME EP". This tape portrays Buru's flow, rhyme scheme, and ability to evolve his sound. It can be heard on songs like "TRUTH (PROD. LUKE ALMIGHTY)" and "INNERMOVE (INTERLUDE) PROD. CEO BEATZ & 5HERIFF". The year 2018 proved to be a busy one for the Chicago artist. That same year, he released his 3rd project "NARCISSIST" where he describes himself as vain, selfish, boastful, and an egomaniac. His style is solidified in this tape. It certainly has great replay value! This is audible on songs like "Sick" - which gained over 160,000 streams on Spotify, "Action (feat. Slime Dollaz)", and "Waiver Wire". The following year, 2019, Duffle Bag Buru released his song "Zamboni (PROD. Sosa)". It gained over 18,000 plays on SoundCloud as it's a very menacing sounding song with its heavy bass and rolling hi-hats. That same year, Buru released his 4th project "Fly On The Wall". Continuing with the meaning sounding trap vibe, Buru lets his audience know that he is nowhere near done with his plans for his future. He's only getting started. This project has stellar production! This is heard on songs like "AGAIN PROD. UGLYFRIEND" - which gained over 59,000 streams on Spotify), "GROWN (PROD. MENOH)", "BOXSPRING FT. WARHOL.SS (PROD. MENOH), "BUZZ BUZZ FT. FEMDOT (PROD. CEO BEATZ)", "OBAMA FT. RON$OCOLD & CP (PROD. GINSENG), and more! However, Buru didn't end that year with that tape. He then released a single with XanMan called "Quarterback" (which was a surprise single off his latest tape). By 2020, Duffle Bag Buru had already worked with so many artists, producers, videographers, and more. But he wasn't done. In 2020, he released his tape "High Times At The Bottom". An enjoyable tape with a different sound, Buru shows that he is consistent in his craft. His talent is heard in songs like "Party Stuff", "Kinkos", "Save the Kids (ft. KOMLA), and more! Buru also appears on Supa Bwe's album "Just Say Thank You" on a song called "Boom Boom Boom" - which has over 125,000 streams on Spotify. Duffle Bag Buru has appeared on Lyrical Lemonade, WORLDSTARHIPHOP, Elevator, No Jumper, and more! He is proudly representing Chicago! We have not heard anything from him in 2021 though.
