Ro Marsalis

Ladies and Gentleman, the one and only, Ro Marsalis! With a profoundly powerful message and incredible voice, this Chicago artist is putting R&B back on the map! At least publicly, it all started in 2014 when Ro created his song "Venting Music". He tells his feelings and thoughts via his melodic expression and rap lyrics. In 2015, he released his 2 singles, "What It Was (demo)" and "Trees". Here he showcases his ability to rap and his ability to use his voice uniquely. The mixing on his voice, in general, is masterfully beautiful. During this period, he dropped many songs while still finding his style. By 2016, he released his first full R&B song called "CHNLS ft. Tiffany Hines". It has a very heart-warming electric piano-synth beat while Tiffany and Ro sing about relationships, spirituality, and life. His follow-up song, "Repentance", showcases his story-telling skills. The song is very gospel-like and Ro's vocals are so impressive. The following year, 2017, he had his biggest song. It's called "Affirmation" and it gained over 14,000 plays on SoundCloud! His R&B/rap music is just so pure. He uses a very noticeable background gospel vocals style. Those who listen to him know exactly what we are saying. This can be heard on his follow-up song "The Struggle ft. Josi Green". He ended that year with a song with the return of Tiffany Hines! Both of these artists compliment each other very well. His vocal frequency and flow along with her melody and vibrato are so soothing. It's called "Gravity Pt. 1" and we hope there will be a part 2 sometime soon. The following year, 2018, Ro released his first project, "Random Wednesdays Vol. 1". This tape really shows how professional he takes his passion. We are reminded that Ro has an incredible ear for beat selection and melodic vocal pitches to use. We hear his back story and what was then his future plans in this tape, and hear appearance from Gold Haze, Josi Green, Chi Adkins, and more! Ro's captivating flow, lyrics, and melody can be heard on songs like "Same Ones", "Go Slow" (which gained over 12,000 plays), "Deep End", "Independence", and more. That same year, he released a volume 2! This tape was his 'come up' as he would say. You can judge for yourselves, and we recommend songs like "Endurance" (one of our favorites), "Glow Up", and "DARKNESS". Ro ended that year with 2 singles produced by STNFXCE. In 2019, he released a song that should be way bigger than it is and it's called "Denial". It's an up-beat happy song hit and has big radio potential. Please listen to it. He continues to showcase his star power in songs like "OTW 5th Draft-No Hook", and "Vices"! His singing abilities have very much improved since 2014 and it's very noticeable. In 2020, he reminds us that he can still drop bars and it's audible in his song "Musiq Freestyle". Now, in 2021, Ro has released another EP, "Space(s)". This is indubitably his most professionally sounding catalog! He has perfected his R&B style and has solidified his vibrato sound. This can be heard on songs like "Uncomfortable", "Energy", "Hurt People", and more! We even hear features from Gold Haze, Josi Green, Ausar, Southpaw Swade, and more! Ro's music can be found on all music platforms. He's gotten noticed by the likes of Lyrical Lemonade, The Ghetto Flower, iLLANOiZE, Prime Fortune, and more. We are very excited to see what his future brings him and what he brings his fans. We hope to see more music videos from the Chicago star as well. Do not sleep on this man!
