The Chicago music scene is popping! There are so many talented musicians. Just as producers, engineers, managers, etc. are essential to the musician, so are their graphic designers. These content creators are behind the creation of many works of art like cover art for EPs, mixtapes, albums, and more! We had the opportunity to speak to one of them. Meet TomatronWYO! He has worked with so many talented artists from not only Chicago but from everywhere. Here is what he had to say in regard to his journey!
"Where Am I From? I am from the suburbs of Chicago. But back and forth from Chicago to LA the past year.
What got me started? I've always been into art and graphic work. I used to design years ago for a Call of Duty team and stopped. Years later I realized this was something I wanted to do full time. And not really finishing school pushed me harder to start my own business.
What exactly do I do? I am a graphic artist (designer). I make single covers, album covers, logos, clothing designs. I recently worked with Blumhouse on 'Halloween Kills' movie posters. Something big is coming the upcoming year by breaking into the movie industry.
What or who inspires me? I just love music. a big part was wanting to work with Chief Keef and Glo Gang which has been a goal of mine since I started all of this since he is my favorite artist. And just seeing the constant growth every day really inspires me and the new projects I have put in front of my daily seeing everybody's vision of what they want.
What are my current goals? Work with Chief Keef and reach 10k followers by the end of 2021.
What is my creative process? Just listen to the artists music I'm working for. Ask for a concept then get photoshop open right away.
Who are some artists I've worked for? Polo G, Pronto Spazzout, OG Wodie, OG Stevo, Heavy Steppers, Lil Durk, AMBJaay, Wiz Khalifa, Dreezy, Cdot Honcho, 147 Calboy, Glogang Members, Lil Zay Osama, Lil Mouse, El Hitta, DCG Shun/Bsavv, Queen Key and Many other artists
When did I start my career? A little over 2 years ago
When did I get signed by a label and what is it like? It's a lot of work, a lot of meetings, and a lot of paperwork. It's really enjoyable being a part of big projects and seeing the success of them. Getting plaques, making great relationships with many people and just overall success"
