Chicago is a place full of diversity. This is especially prevalent in the music scene. One part of it is the Latino side. Meet Young Phet! This young hispanic rap artist is just getting started. It all started in 2019 when he dropped his first song "LEAN" that is self-produced and featuring babyGEI$HA. With a mesmerizing spacey synth sound, heavy bass, and catchy flute, Phet and GEI$HA go back and forth melodically. That same year, Phet managed to work with DJ SIDEREAL, Lil Keed's official DJ, for his song "MISERY", a single off his debut mixtape, "BEFORE YOUR EYES". "MISERY" is Phet's first song where he shows his hard rap skills over a menacing and bouncy piano beat. After getting in with Bangers Only Records, he released his first tape. It exemplifies his ability to flow and deliver bars. This is heard on songs like "SAVAGE", "FWM", "Bonfire Rap", and more! The following year, 2020, Young Phet dropped his sophomore mixtape, "IN MY BAG". You can really hear his exponential growth in this project! He comes with great melody, wordplay, delivery, and more on this one. This is audible in songs like "I CAN RAP TOO", "WHO THIS", "LA FAMILIA", "ELON MUSK", and more! On this tape, Phet was able to work with platinum producer Pluto who produced for Flipp Dinero, scarlxrd, and more. Still in 2020, he released his song "GEEKD" with Chillfiger. This summer bop got noticed by Masked Gorilla and SoundCloud which ended up being Phet's biggest song at the time with over 4,000 plays on SoundCloud. In 2021, Young Phet slowed down and only released one song. This song is "SAUCE FREESTYLE" which features Chicago's CP! Of course, this flute filled, hard bass song was produced by Pluto, and it compliments the styles of Phet and CP well. Now, in 2022, Young Phet has been working on collaborations by the look of it. He released a song called "LITTY" which features Ronnie Rage and "BLESSED" featuring Logan Cage aka 8MATIKLOGAN. Both of these songs are superb. Young Phet accumulated over 8,000 streams on Spotify in regard to these 2 songs combined. It ended up getting the attention by the likes of Prime Fortune, MusicBreakr, MediaLeeks, TheGhettoFlower, iLLANOiZE, and more! We hope to see another project from him this year and perhaps, music videos! His music is available on all platforms. Young Phet is here to stay.
